If we let this shit stand, we're telling the world that the Chinese can shamelessly steal any other nation's territory without even the slightest excuse. They have no more right too that shoal than they do too Manila or Hawaii. They're not going too stop here.

They're running a senate investigation into POGO and it's become a bit of a telenovela with the focus having shifted to one (admittedly, almost certainly guilty) mayor rather than actually cracking down on crime/corruption in general. Marcos and several senators have been questioning if she's even a citizen, throwing shade that she speaks Mandarin, and doing generally everything within their power to keep it highly dramatic but effete.
In a nutshell, just another day in !Pinoypride politics.
