Lithium battery factory on fire, still burning, at least 11 dead

https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/2024-06-24/national/socialAffairs/Fire-breaks-out-at-Hwaseong-battery-factory-with-multiple-casualties-expected/2075070

Fire authorities faced difficulty entering the building initially, as "the battery cells inside are exploding one by one, rapidly spreading the fire." At least 35,000 batteries are believed to be inside the plant.

It's like a goddarn ammo dump cooking off.

Yeah, I'm sure the chances of your phone blowing up are like 1-in-a-billion, but people have no idea how many times this has caused plane crashes and stuff.

You can improve chances by getting Samsung galaxy tab 6 and since they ain't very fresh chances are now 50/50

And I'm reasonably sure regulations for moving batteries by air has changed since 2011, even in China.

Yeah, once they realized that's what happened. It took years though because the planes burned up and disintegrated and the pieces fell in the ocean so the investigators had nothing to work with.
