The President should be directly elected by a poll of New York Times and Washington Post executives plus selected top intelligence agency officials. It is incoherent to support a universal franchise in the face of continuous Russian and Chinese interference in our social media.

The idea of a universal franchise is obviously a mistake. Even the deeply immoral racist white supremacists of the 19th century were smart enough to understand that the franchise should be restricted to the elites of society.

There is a common misconception that voting should be a human right. It should not be. Voting is and should be a privilege, and any entity that chooses to abuse that privilege by voting for Christofascists should have the franchise stripped from it.

If you would not allow a Rethuglican to date your daughter or come to a party that you are hosting, why would you allow it to vote?

Democracy in its inner essence does not mean that the will of the people as expressed through voting should automatically have top priority. The true meaning of democracy lies in the inner vote that people would cast if they were better educated. Take the typical Rethuglican, for example. With enough education, you could turn it into a Democrat. If we are to be real, it is obvious that deep down it wants to be a Democrat - that is to say, a human. There is a Democrat inside of it begging to be released. By stripping the franchise from it, we incentivize it to rethink its views and to become a productive member of society and at last, a real human being.

My dream political system: Everyone is elected for life. Once elected, there's a biennial plebiscite for each office. If you fall beneath 30% approval, you are executed on the spot and an election is held for your replacement. This puts a check on elected officials to not be shitasses, but still gives them flexibility to enact unpopular but necessary legislation. One other catch. For all elections, there's a 1% chance that the voting booth executes you :marseyguillotine: when you cast your vote. This makes certain that only the people who really care are involved in the electoral process.

Honestly, all the sins of the political system of today can be traced back to the Founding Fathers who when creating the first modern democracy failed to appreciate the defining characteristic of the Ancient Greek political systems they intended to model, namely that the citizenship right to vote was heavily restricted and predicated on you demonstrating that you weren't a detriment to society by surviving several years of intense and hostile military training.
