Don't you always lose your license for a bit after a DUI? Does it even matter anymore with Uber? I used to help my friend when she lost her license for a year, but now you just Uber. This dude can just get car service and probably does anyway on his tour.

I know some booze cruisers that had to use those stupid butt breathalizer machines and those things sound like a menace. How do they think it's a good idea to distract a driver every 10–15 minutes to blow into a tube?

The limit is so low you have 1 drink and you get a DUI. So stupid. Nobody is drunk after 1 beer or 1 glass of wine.

I thought you didn't bc everyone's like "oh but they NEEEED their license and the DUI was totes a mistake they just uh forgot they were drunk"
Fun fact: here in IL you cannot get a DUI while riding a bicycle bc it doesn't count as a "vehicle" (ebikes count, but purely mechanical ones don't), so you can booze cruise on two wheels!

.08 in a kayak gets your driver's license revoked and up to 10k fine or jail if its not your first, all your insurance sees is dui so rates spike, if you get a car dui after one in a vessel it counts as your second just the same

ha that's interesting. I have no idea what it is in Florida. My friend had a job and got her first DUI going home from a bar. I woulda been in her shoes but took a different route home. It was a stop point. She had just lost a ton of weight and ate a salad, so she was drunker than I was I guess. I was more buzzed but not drunk. I probs woulda blown dirty though because the limit is so low. She lost her license for a year I think. That was the worst of it plus the money for the lawyer. I felt bad for her and would pick her up from work especially on rainy days.

I had a roommate once who got popped for DUI. He kept insisting that it was all bullshit bc he blew below the legal limit, conveniently ignoring that he was stoned out of his fricking gourd as well. He spent thousands fighting it and got absolutely nowhere and ended up having to bike to work for a while. Dude was a real loser, and a whiny cute twink about it at that, so I felt 0% bad for him.
The funnest part of this story? We lived next door to the police station. Literally next door. He got popped just down the street from our place, because of-fricking-course he did.

oh man I lived down the street from cops too and that road was one you never ever did anything bad on. The cops were coming out of the parking lot and tourists and shit would speed right passed them and get got. lol

Generally it's suspended for x months at arrest. You can ask for a preliminary hearing where they might lift the suspension if the case is a little weak. And it doesn't really matter what the result is since you just drive with the suspended license anyway
