Trump's ability to resonate with the working poor - despite having complete and total contempt for them - is really quite something. I think it ultimately comes down to A.) they see themselves as future billionaires; they just gotta work a little bit harder and they'll be just like Trump some day (and, if not, it's because they simply didn't work hard enough or were content with what little they had). And B.) Trump may be obscenely wealthy, but he says vulgar things like "shithole countries" and "grab them by the kitty", which they find relatable because they think and talk the same way. They are wholly convinced that Trump "tells it like it is!", even though his entire career has been based on criminal activities and outright Janus-faced deception. But, hey, he says racist stuff and likes to degrade women, so he's one of us! :brainletmaga:

Trump has completely hornswoggled the booboisie into thinking that he's a salvific messiah for the common man. To low-information voters, Trump represents their inner id, saying the things that they're too afraid to say and attacking the groups that they scapegoat for their problems. Trump consistently uses crude, exoteric, just-folks language (i.e. the opposite of how I'm talking right now) and, to angry rednecks, every bilious, contrarious, rebarbative thing that comes out of Trump's mouth is a doughty, valorous act of derring-do against the PC establishment. The shambolic state of the government under the Trump administration was always totally irrelevant to them. All that matters to disillusioned rednecks is that Trump "tells it like it is", putting uppity colored people and womenfolk in their place. :feraljakmaga:

Once upon a time, the left represented the common people. Today, however, the left represents ivory tower elitists who absolutely despise the common people. That's why Donald Trump was able to hit such a raw nerve with blue-collar voters. Trump is a world-class rabble-rouser, and he knows precisely how to appeal to the canaille with populist rhetoric. Of course, in reality, the idea of multi-billionaire Donald Trump being a champion of the common man is absolutely laughable. It's also extremely ironic that Trump is so popular with Evangelicals, because Trump's entire life has been the absolute epitome of sin, gluttony, cupidity, concupiscence, debauchery, and bacchanalia. Trump is the living, breathing embodiment of all 7 deadly sins, other than sloth. Literally all that anyone has to do to get Evangelical morons to fawn over them is to pay lip service to the pro-life movement. :marseyabortionrentfree:
