Algerian Columnist Unleashes Tirade Against Morocco, Accuses Nation of "Diplomatic Thuggery"

I love the Algeria-Morocco conflict so goddarn much. I know geography better than 99.9% of people and I have a particular interest in border disputes and international slapfights and I still cannot figure out why these people think they're so different or what they're fighting over. It's not Western Sahara, that's a symptom not a cause. There is this incredibly deeply ingrained hatred for everything about each other that transcends political issues. They hate the other side's culture and hate every one of them on a personal level.

This is one of the cattiest things I've ever read in my life. The Real Housewives of New Jersey wish they could be 1% as catty as this guy. I wish he was here.

I read about this once, iirc it was in article on al-Monitor that would be paywalled now. They've got all kinds of stereotypes against each other. The basic themes are that Algeria is full of poverty-stricken uncivilized uneducated hillbilly r-slurs and Morocco is a den of licentious hedonism where people have no morals and copy European behavior because they want an excuse to frick everything that moves.

I hope we can get some Maghrebcels here because this conflict is lit. Unfortunately my only interaction with them is when some weird Algerian teenager was messaging everyone trying to find a moid interested in her. The only thing I remember from the conversation is her needing to inform us that we might think everyone in Africa is black but that's offensive because actually Algerians are white. Honey, try telling that to Dennis Hopper.

Reminds me of my dad telling me about going into the army and there's these guys from Chicago who feel that being white is a really important part of their identity. (Which it wasn't here because literally everyone was white.) And it's pretty obvious it's because they were polaks, daegos, or at the very least micks and the whole "white" thing was their way of trying to assimilate and not feel like outcasts.
