My question is, why do neighbors still carry their pagers around when all of their buddies' pagers just exploded the day before?

Thing I saw said that they switched to using walkie-talkies after all the pagers went boom. Problem was that they'd been wired to blow as well, as this turns out to have been a multi-part plan.
