Yeah my grandma (RIP) used to tell us how they'd wind up with so many cats on the farm in AB (early-mid 1900s) that they'd end up having to just drown them and stuff. Sounds horrific to me, but life was just different then I guess. Also a lot of stories about watching animal s*x.
