It's like, was it ever a winnable cycle? And I mean, who knows.

LITERALLY ANYBODY OTHER THAN BIDEN/HARRIS WOULD HAVE WON. You could have fricking nominated me and I'd have won Pennsylvania.

I feel like we've gone through three presidential cycles in a row where the Democratic strategy, particularly as it relates to media, is, play it safe, don't make any mistakes

This has been the strategy of every Democrat since before I started voting. It worked to some extent for Obama because he was exceptionally good at not making gaffes. You could look at him and see the wheels turning in his head, deciding how to not frick up answering a question.

But let's get real. Eventually you need a positive message, not just avoiding gaffes. The last time the Democrats really had that was Carter, and his positive message was "hey, we can make the country better if we work hard and sacrifice a bit for a few years" which nobody wanted to hear. So it's really Kennedy in 1963, 61 years ago, who had the last positive message for why you should vote for Democrats.

Fetterman's whole "I'm just plain folx" bullshit is not the way forward. He's not the pragmatic moderate Democrat hero, he's owned by east coast machine politics and works for the same scumbags the Republicans do.
