Not much -- because there's not a lot of tariffs lol. If you add a 10000% tariff that's going to skyrocket the price of whatever good or derivative good is being tariffed. That money is then taken by the government. It is then functionally equivalent to a tax and you're a dumb cute twink.
>10000% tariff that's going to skyrocket the price of whatever good or derivative good is being tariffed.
smh yes that's the point. It's to encourage consumers to make better decisions (such as buying domestic). I know what as people stop buying foreign goods the government's revenue will decline in the long run. but that's not a bad thing! As people will be making better decisions they won't need a government to nanny them and it could become obsolete. Do you not see the efficiency here?
>equivalent to a tax
I never argued against that wtf are you on about. Tariffs are taxes.

Lmao eat musty butt. None of these domestic options exist, thereby creating a 25% tax for the decade it takes to cold start them.

Sacrifices must be made for the betterment of the nation. If they only have to pay a couple for percent for a decade, what's the big deal?
Realistically, foreign products are subversive and eroding national power. We must build that back. Better and stronger than ever.
