This writer is an r-slur too think anyone will use bitcoin instead of Euros or Yen or Yuan but he is not wrong that continually fricking with everypony will eventually kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.
Even vaster changes could soon arrive. Trump's first presidency gave us a hint that the era of one-world globalisation was nearing its end. But back then, he was not as focused as he appears to be now. If he succeeds in eradicating America's big bilateral trade deficits — against Mexico, Canada, China and the EU — the dynamics of global trade and finance could change fundamentally. As the countries that relied so much on their ability to export to the US have to trade more with each other, there will be less need to use the dollar for international transactions. Inevitably, the exorbitant privilege will decline.
@JimieWhales love sucking peepee almost as much as DDR loves threatening tariffs only too cuck out the day before.

If I gave a shit about the UKs opinion on US politics I would build a time machine to go back in time to stop the American Revolution

Yeah, he seems reasonable except for this. It's incredibly tarded. I'm not a finance guy, but I know I'd rather have a currency where it doesn't require a large amount of the world's power generation to work and the money supply is determined by the Fed, not some shadowy cartel of bitcoin miners in China.
This is what I say whenever we put economic sanctions on some country. We can do that up to a point, but there's a danger that builds up. As you sanction more and more countries there's more and more profit to be made by trading with the sanctioned countries. It's a weapon that loses a little power every time you use it, so it should be used sparingly. If you run around sanctioning everyone then the rest of the world will realize they're better off trading with the sanctioned countries even if they lose the US market.

Trump is extremely disappointing
He announces weak tariffs, then walks them back shortly. I wish he announced 50% tariffs on China and India.
