I think the alcoholism thing may have to do with how it makes people feel after consuming anything with calories in it. From what I understand it stimulates satiety and makes you nauseous more quickly if you drink.

It probably does, it stops cravings, not specifically hunger. Like imagine how you feel after Thanksgiving dinner but probably all the time for every feeling.
