Federalism is definitely inefficient in the modern era, but federalism is more democratic and prevents tyranny/autocracy. But I don't think anyone cares about that shit anymore.

I'd say the worst is piecemeal approaches to things like fighting white collar crime. A federal level approach makes more sense. And I think the US should be like Canada and have criminal law administered at the Federal level, but include guardrails like the President/Attorney General can't fire/defund independent prosecutors.
