It feels like article from 90ties. Will video games make a kid smarter ? Probably not, and somehow today kids are playing simpler games than kids from the past. I didn’t played ff11 or ever quest but reading about them, they seems to be a lot harder than fortnite and tech was way harder in the past than today. A kid from the past would adapt way faster to today tech than today kid to tech from yesterday. Parents often want to feel like there kid is smarter than them when they ware his age but nope gen x are smarter than millennials and millennials are smarter than gen z and etc so we are getting dumped and regular kid today ain’t going to play hardcore simulator or disco elyseum so answer is no
Lol what. Games are more complex than ever. Boomers were hooked on fricking snake or some shit. Then came millennials hooked on candy crush and angry birds or whatever. Nowadays kids play like Minecraft or some shit which requires you to read a manual to play to full effect

Minecraft is simplified game engine and it’s from 2011 and Roblox from 2006 such game existed in the past like RPG. Most kids didn’t play minecraft on such lvl
Minecraft is way more complex than the majority of games from the past. The fact it's easier has no bearing on the complexity of the systems - Contra is still hard as frick despite being a very simple game. I do think you're correct about tech becoming more user-oriented and simple to use which has had a knock-on effect of zoomers being surprisingly tech-illiterate, though.
