piss and shit
https://old.reddit.com/r/news/comments/1fco65k/concern_at_the_rise_of_us_constitutional_sheriffs/
There is no such thing as a "constitutional" sheriff. They made that shit up. So let's not honor it by pretending it's a thing.
Local sheriff in our small town "paid a visit" to the school superintendent during Covid because of mask mandates. He tried to play it off like he was just offering help after a bit of backlash, but it's darn clear to me he intended to intimidate the superintendent. Some of these turds definitely think the position means they get to do whatever they want.

A dolphin attacking swimmers in Japan is probably lonely and sexually frustrated, experts say.
At least 18 people have been injured in dolphin attacks in Fukui prefecture this year in what is becoming an annual occurrence in the region. Most of the injuries are minor bites, but some beachgoers have suffered broken bones since the attacks started in 2022.
Researchers believe a lone male Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops aduncus) is likely responsible for the attacks based on photographs and video footage, Nature reported.
"We've seen that this dolphin randomly shows up at a beach, bites if there are people around, wanders off and repeats," Tadamichi Morisaka, a professor in the Cetacean Research Center at Mie University in Japan, told Nature. "To me, he's seeking some kind of interaction with people."
Dolphins engage in gentle biting with each other as part of their normal social behavior, so the dolphin might believe he's got a friendly relationship with the humans, Morisaka said.
"If he really wanted to attack, he could have come tackling at full force and chomped down. But he's keeping the biting gentle for dolphin standards, so it's probably a friendly gesture rather than a full-on attempt to attack," he said.
It's unclear why the dolphin is on his own. Bottlenose dolphins usually live in pods, with males forming long-term partnerships with other males. Paired males bite, chase, rub and engage in sexual behaviors such as pressing their peepeees against one another as part of these relationships, and Morisaka believes the dolphin in Fukui is trying to treat humans like a male pair mate.
Ryoichi Matsubara, the director of Echizen Matsushima Aquarium in Fukui, told The New York Times that the dolphin was observed trying to press his genitals against people in 2022 and 2023, and that he might be acting out mating behavior — but also biting beachgoers if they approached or tried to touch him.
Other researchers have also suggested that the attacks could partly be the result of the dolphin's desire to mate. Simon Allen, a principal investigator at the Shark Bay Dolphin Research project in Western Australia, told BBC News that dolphins can express their sociality in physical ways.
"Just as in humans and other social animals, hormonal fluctuations, sexual frustration or the desire to dominate might drive the dolphin to injuring the people it interacts with," Allen said. "Since they are such powerful animals, this can lead to serious injury in humans."
Fukui prefecture authorities are discouraging people from interacting with the dolphin. They've put up signs and fliers warning beachgoers, introduced lifeguard patrols and are limiting swimming hours on certain beaches, the Times reported. Authorities have also installed underwater acoustic devices emitting high-frequency noises to deter dolphins.
However, Morisaka is concerned the dolphin could get used to the acoustic devices and instead wants to develop an echolocation detection system to alert beachgoers that a dolphin is nearby. He believes that with people out of the water, the dolphin won't find anything interesting at the beaches and will eventually leave them alone.
If the human-dolphin interactions continue, they could become more dangerous. Morisaka said dolphins can begin attempting to assert their dominance over humans, engaging in aggressive behaviors such as tackling or mounting.
"We saw a bit of this last summer, so I was very concerned," Morisaka said. "They are about 2.5 metres [8.2 feet] long and weigh around 200 kilograms [440 pounds], so if they came charging at 20-30 kilometres per hour [12 to 19 mph], it'd be like getting into a traffic accident."

An Edinburgh school has been accused of teaching "propaganda" to teenage pupils after they were told transgender people are regularly murdered.
Teaching resources seen by The Telegraph show that children are being told that "many" transgender people are killed "simply because they try to be themselves" in a lesson about hate crime.
The information also implies that the Brexit referendum led to a "large rise" in racist murders in England.
On Monday, the City of Edinburgh council was unable to provide any evidence to back up the claims, with no known murder of a trans person ever to have taken place in Scotland.
'Deceptive mess'
A parent of a teenager at the prominent state school, which she asked not to be named to protect the identity of her child, claimed teachers were peddling myths spread by trans rights activists who regularly insist members of the minority group are facing a "genocide".
A worksheet states that pupils will face an exam on its contents and adds that young people "often" become criminals because "they tend to have a lot more free time".
The school is a member of a charter scheme run by the controversial charity LGBT Youth Scotland, which has faced accusations that it is promoting unscientific ideologies in classrooms across the country.
"The statistics being presented to children are a deceptive mess, with no context or anything to back them up," the parent said.
'Narrative embedded in schools'
"While they focus on trans people, there is no mention of the domestic abuse which many women face, or disabled people, who are a very vulnerable minority.
"To me, it just seems like propaganda and misinformation, which they are telling students to accept as part of a narrative being embedded in Scottish schools.
"They're shepherding children towards believing things that aren't true, which is the opposite of what education should be about."
More than half of Scottish secondary schools, and dozens of primaries, have joined the charter scheme run by LGBT Youth Scotland, an organisation that endorses puberty blockers and claims there are at least 17 different genders.
Members must agree to allow the organisation to train school staff and some have rewritten policies to state that parents should not always be told if their child socially transitions to live as a member of the opposite s*x, for example, by adopting a new name.
'Scared of being vilified'
The parent added: "Scottish schools and the government now seem obsessed with normalising the idea you can be born in the wrong body, which I think is really destabilising for many children.
"There are a lot of LGBT flags around the schools, pronouns everywhere. A lot of parents and pupils are completely sick of it, but nobody wants to talk about it because they're scared of being vilified."
The teaching materials state that "assigned s*x" is "based on reproductive organs", which for trans people do not match "who they are".
It adds: "Often transgender people have been abused and killed simply because of who they are."
While statistics on UK murders of trans people are not officially collated, a fact check carried out by Channel 4 News in 2018 based on available data found that in Britain, "a trans person is less likely to be murdered than the average person".
The school resource also states that since the EU referendum there has been a "large rise in the number of racist incidents in England against ethnic minorities" including murders.
Fiona McAnena, director of campaigns at the charity S*x Matters, described the school exercise as "disgraceful" and said it marked a "new low" in how s*x and gender was being taught in Scottish schools.
'Impressionable teenagers'
"It's hard to fathom how anyone involved in developing educational material can be so irresponsible as to tell impressionable teenagers the falsehood that people who identify as the opposite s*x are 'often' killed," she added.
"Whoever drafted this worksheet has ignored the many ways in which women are disproportionately victims of crime. It seems designed to sideline women and girls, and position every other group in society as more in need of sympathy."
Edinburgh council was approached for comment and said it was looking into the matter.
