I don't think Tesla does backups for anything. The cyber truck has no mechanical link between the steering column and the wheels so if it fails, bye bye life. I'm surprised you don't have to navigate the touch screen to honk the horn.

It seems like it depends on the model of tesla. Some of them have a lever behind the steering wheel you can move up or down to shift but others look like they are touch screen only. Owners manual doesn't mention the lever but I found some videos online of it.

Seems like the most are copying the design Toyota cemented with the Prius.
That or a column lever -- up is forward, down is reverse, push in for park.
Most gas cars have been using electronic shift mechanisms for years now.

Afaik the car auto changes gears? I disabled
it along w most other autonomous features bc I like the car a lot, but I also bought a 60k car so I can drive 
it? Not sit in it doing nothing as it goes the speed limit? The performance/plaid spec is misaligned with the autonomous future
