!ifrickinglovescience 5 years ago a random YouTuber (Coffee Break) posted a video debooking Soyzgesagt. This lead to reddit screeching and the Kraut bird channel posting this vid as a response
At the end Coffee break chickened out, removed the video and said sorry like a cuck

And they did an AMA too

Is there a neoliberal stance on immigrants like the ones being talked about in the video?

Immigrants are a net benefit for aging populations with shrinking workforces.
HOWEVER, we're seeing evidence on the news the past few weeks that this level of social engineering and cultural clashes is not the panacea economists talk about in their graphs.
Ultimately the debate on immigration is a political one to be ideally discussed as a societal issue. These levels of demographic changes are not something to be decided by faceless bureaucrats and people shouldn't be derided as "racist" simply for being against, this is more of a personal opinion than a !neolibs stance

The economists aren't wrong. The problem is that Europe in the early 2010s and recently the EU and US don't filter their immigrants.
You can't let any shithead in, especially those dodging prison sentences in their motherlands. You want people who are willing to pay for the "human trafficking" ticket, and you'd ideally want a state that doesn't subsidize their asses into poverty permanently.
That last caveat is another issue in itself, but it still hinges upon importing the right kind of people. Do it legally, spend more on filtering, import more but obviously enforce the law and uphold your standards (kick out illegals, institute a "one crime, you're exiled" policy, and so on).
!neolibs, of course, we're assuming government wants to import the world's productive class instead of importing anybody and putting them on the dole to secure future votes. (Public choice ftw, frick all voters in the butt real hard, and vote out all politicians !chuds ).
I did it! Another late night rant from Yours Truly!

I don't understand why people treat migrants as these sort of deities that should be helped at all costs no matter what. Most of the migrants, despite what all the Journos say, are economic migrants, xey don't escape because xey are politically persecuted and are fearing for their life. And even if it is for humanitarian reasons, what's stopping these countries from deporting these people back once the conflict has been settled? You coulf Hitlermaxx and send them to a remote island without nowhere to escape, or set up an enclave in the middle of nowhere with restricted mobility and maxx, but every logical solution is a neonazi right-wing extremist solution that's against UN convention number #3632 and migrants should be treated like demi-gods that do no harm and should be given everything or else you'll feel the wrath of them.

I think the US should send all our illegal immigrants to Cananada.

Send them to St. pierre et miquelon, North Nunavut, or any landlocked territory east of Newfoundland, that way xey will either be forced to work or freeze to death .

Economically, there's also the matter of the positive effects being broadly spread across all of society, while the negative effects are concentrated in harming specific workers, communities, neighborhoods, etc.
Mass immigration is not Pareto efficient, and it is certainly not always objectively correct to screw over a smaller group of people for a perceived benefit to a larger group.
Of course most policies make someone worse off, but we should be able to talk about it honestly and debate what is appropriate.

I maintain the neolib stance on immigration requires they get jobs and actually be punished for crimes up to deportation. This modern prog stance of a) Letting them draw heavily from the dole like the old people they're supposed to be supporting and b) Not punishing them properly for injustices because they don't know any better tee-hee is a textbook example of losing the plot

Immigrants good, because they want to come here and be productive upstanding citizens. Refugees bad because they are forced to come here.
