Not that I'd like a life like that too…but a lot of these RETVRN/cottagecore people are going to be due for a major culture shock once they realize that they'll have to be solely responsible for the water/sewage/upkeep/electricity/internet/whatever. Because while you can get these comforts, you're going to need to work to get them in…and who's to say of what else you want to do when all is done and finished?

Check the local laws on what you can do with your property. You don't want to have to deal with extra bs taxes or restrictions. Travel in person to see if you like the people. I did that with Colorado and found out I hated almost everyone there, saved me some money as I was thinking about having a house in the state.
