Hello, welcome to 'I see the poors are pretending to be big wallet gangstas again'
This hole exists as a safe space for refugees from the Facebook(MetaTM groups of the same name. Of which there have been several iterations. We mostly exist to poke fun at the state of living in poverty. While it oftentimes is unavoidable, we do aspire to not be meanspirited. Over the years we have co-opted the term 'Peak Poor' to being someone who exudes poverty, regardless of their actual net worth. Trump and Elon both exhibit the peak poor ethos from time to time while still being the top 0.000001%. You can do something peak poor and still be a good person or a generally adjusted one. We all have a bit of poor in us.
We basically fill a niche similar to fatpeoplehate with a bit less actual malice.
PeakPoor is shotgunning mountain dews at 5 years old.
PeakPoor is not people dying of poverty. While technically the greatest heights of poverty is succumbing to it this is not funny, and is a failure
of capitalism. We do not make fun of poverty to be mean spirited such as that.
Read the room, if it's punching down too hard or really digging into someone whos a sympathetic character it doesn't belong here. (basically READ THE ROOM)

Eh, she’s Mexican because she was born and raised in Mexico. Having a German dad or a whatever dad doesn’t make you less of a Mexican anymore than having a Italian dad makes you less of an American if you were born in Atlanta.
I don’t really like her art or whatever, but Twittertard chicanocels were trying to cancel her for “appropriating indigenous culture” at the same time other wokies put “proud Blackfoot” in their bios with blond hair. Or the same Chicanocels put “pRoUd MexIcaNa” in their bios when they were born in Tennessee, speak 0 Spanish, and have never been to Mexico—and who’s total exposure to Mexican culture was their under-educated immigrant parents and warching Remezcla videos online like “10 things ALL MEXICANS DO! OMG”
Her art was, I guess, somewhat innovative for the time and she popularized indigenous culture at a time when most upper-class Mexicans would have liked to eradicate it.
I don’t know where I’m going with this, because I dislike her art, but it’s always entertaining to see Redditors flip flop depending on who does what.

Most her art was not indigenous though, it was just popular art expressions by lower class Mexicans in general. I keep seeing r-slurs say stuff like that she appropriated “indigenous Zapoptrc Tehuana dresses!” when most of the people who wore them in Tehuantepec were Latinx not Zapotec.

So long as there's reproductions it literally doesn't matter. Art is just a concept not the pigments. If someone burned the original negatives of citizen kane it would be irritating but nothing major would be lost as we have plenty of other copies and masters. The same goes for paintings, and people's prickliness over it is just because paint-artists are put on a pedestal
