Grad student for scenic design taking out college loans per semester to eat out and buy useless shit

  • Undergrad: 30k debt left (half paid for)

  • Grad School: Has been taking a 15k 5k loan per semester to live the life of Riley :marseyantiwork:

  • 60'000 total

Car Loan:

  • 4 year loan and he thought it was 3 :marseyxd:

  • 11% rate (?)

  • 2011 Hyundai crossover thing :marseycarsuicide:

Credit Cards:

  • Prospective income after graduation: $30/hour :mcmarsey: :marseywagie:

  • Missed a payment at some point and ate 80 in late fees

  • 23% interest on a maxed out card. : He's making minimum payments on (he is still purchasing things on this card when possible)

  • A couple of other cards too that aren't as bad

General:

  • Started the month at $1316 in the checking, down to around 200 :marseystocksdown:

I liked when you could see he bought multiple fast food meals in a day. Also spending $2.10 to buy a Coke from a vending machine every day instead of buying in bulk and keeping at home (or just not drinking soda).

Yeah they were pretty good this time. The most hostile I remember them being outside the laid-off google contractor spending a thousand on a mattress or the follow-up interview with the neet who has started lying about attending college to his mother to launch a streaming career.

Hello, welcome to 'I see the poors are pretending to be big wallet gangstas again'

This hole exists as a safe space for refugees from the Facebook(MetaTM groups of the same name. Of which there have been several iterations. We mostly exist to poke fun at the state of living in poverty. While it oftentimes is unavoidable, we do aspire to not be meanspirited. Over the years we have co-opted the term 'Peak Poor' to being someone who exudes poverty, regardless of their actual net worth. Trump and Elon both exhibit the peak poor ethos from time to time while still being the top 0.000001%. You can do something peak poor and still be a good person or a generally adjusted one. We all have a bit of poor in us.

We basically fill a niche similar to fatpeoplehate with a bit less actual malice.

PeakPoor is shotgunning mountain dews at 5 years old.

PeakPoor is not people dying of poverty. While technically the greatest heights of poverty is succumbing to it this is not funny, and is a failure

of capitalism. We do not make fun of poverty to be mean spirited such as that.

Read the room, if it's punching down too hard or really digging into someone whos a sympathetic character it doesn't belong here. (basically READ THE ROOM)
