lol i just came from the reddit mald thread on this, good stuff https://old.reddit.com/r/meirl/comments/10kx5nf/meirl/

genuine question 2 scrotes here: do you really ask women to pay half the bill? i see it a lot on reddit. i don't date enough to know whether it's actually common irl, but no scrote has ever expected or even allowed me to pay for my own food/drink, even if it's just a friend thing. maybe i'm too :marseyautism: and i'm supposed to be progressively fighting to hand my card over or something tho

If it's not a date (or a special occasion like her birthday) I make the woman pay her side, sure. I would feel like a stupid simp paying for a woman who says she's just a friend. I used to do that when I was much younger and it did not help me get laid, quite the opposite in fact

yeah that's fair, tbh i don't really have straight scrote friends so they don't have to worry about the simp issue thankfully haha. also strags are all rich af for whatever reason :marseyshrug:

Depends on where you go. Cafe / small bar to get a drink/coffee/ice cream I don't mind paying. Same when I'm with friends. I mean it's the same when I show up to a friend with a some drinks/snacks, I don't expect them to pay. It's a give/take situation.

Expensive restaurants? Yes, I expect the woman to pay half the bill early on. I never do 1st dates in that setting though, rather one of the things stated above as part of a longer activity. During those (when paying for them) I can already establish how I would not pay for her at fancy restaurants and judge her response to that. Obviously there might be exceptions.

And no you don't have to fight for it. The scrote needs to have the balls to say to the server "Split check please".

that all makes sense. also my experiences are probably impacted by the fact that i rarely eat out so it's only ever other people inviting me, and the 'if i'm inviting you somewhere it's my treat' thing is sometimes the explanation rather than just hard and fast gender stuff

https://old.reddit.com/r/meirl/comments/10kx5nf/meirl/j5u8gwv/ i saved this comment earlier before he edited it, it used to say 5 star meal for $30 and it's just funny to see him get dunked on even by redditors lol

I’ve seen redditors rage over servers placing the bill on their side of the table. I hate to say I defended one semi-normal person who suggested that maybe we shouldn’t get so mad at the server for doing that since they can’t read your minds and since men pay more often. I was met with furious downdongers and replies (including a SOURCE that said men don’t pay even close to 99% of the time, just 89%).

:marseyxd: were they pretending they were mad because they're male feminists (non-pejorative), or just being honest that it's embarrassing to ask her to pay half at that point? the sub i linked can get fairly chuddy for a popular sub so they're at least self aware that they're just self conscious about getting taken advantage of

for all the redditors in antiwork whining about karens and working food service in their 30s, you think they'd understand that it's a safer bet to give the man the bill. angry progressive soyboys will internally seethe and still give you 20%, old karens will legit chimp out if they feel like you're implying anything by not handing the bill to their scrote
