I can't tell you exactly when it changed, but tip standard has been 20% for quite a while. 15% was at least 15 years ago. Are you by any chance in your 70's? Because that was the norm in the heyday of their youth.

Bullshit. 10% was standard well into 2000s with 15% being standard from like ~2008 onwards. 20% was definitely not ‘standard’ until Covid. I will not be gaslit on this by a bunch of Reddit servers.

I have no problems with servers irl but the ones on reddit have probably the biggest chips on their shoulders out of any profession. Serving is a low skill job, if they had an actual wage they would make like 15 bucks an hour unless they worked at a Michelin restaurant or something.
