I was also a 2008 grad and still can’t find a job paying better than $40,000 a year. All my peers seem to have better careers than I do because they had the fortune of graduating into better economic times. I’d like for just once in my life to know what it’s like to bring in $50,000 or higher and feel I’m enjoying myself.

$40,000 per year as a burger is pitiful. But the year they graduated surely cannot be the reason, they must have majored in something that doesn’t produce much economic value :marseyquestion:

I entered the workforce at the same time. The company I worked for went out of business 4 months in and then nobody was hiring.

I'm actually glad I started out like that. Much, much better than hitting your first recession when you have a mortgage, car lease and dependents.
