yeah I don't tip cashiers for fast food or whatever and I'm getting annoyed that they are adding that shit now. At a sit down restaurant with great service, they gonna see a nice tip but not if you're just ringing me up for my meal wtf lol
My nephew works at a restaurant and does the take-out part sometimes and makes great tip money from, I'm assuming, reddit-like people too cowardly to leave a teenager zero dollars. He gets very bussy blasted when my wife and I are like, "Good for you for getting that bag, but we never tip for shit like that. What do you do that you think you earn that?" And he's like "But I put all their stuff in the bags and make sure they have napkins and utensils!"
Christ that's annoying. Roll it into the price of the food, it will piss people off a lot less. I don't know anyone who is like, "Oh great! Fees I can't opt out of!" Even if was for something I was all about, I would be mad
Tipping culture is one of the early signs that I'm becoming a boomer.
When I grew up the standard tip was 15%, and I'm not sure when it changed to 20% but I only really acknowledged this like a year ago.
I have no shame really about tipping 0 for counter service and stuff. I figured that the requests for tips everywhere were only coming up as a cute byproduct of PoS adoption, and I ignored those. But now companies seem to have a serious expectation that they'll be tipped for ringing up a purchase? I'm not buying it yet. I have no social anxiety about looking a wagie dead in the eye while pressing the 1 pixel on the screen that lets you skip giving a tip.

I tip at almost all these places. That tiny amount of money is inconsequential to me and it's my way of saying "why yes monkey i made you dance for me, here's a couple quarters to live off of"
I see the poors are pretending to be big wallet niggas again est. 2016
Hello, welcome to 'I see the poors are pretending to be big wallet gangstas again'
This hole exists as a safe space for refugees from the Facebook(MetaTM groups of the same name. Of which there have been several iterations. We mostly exist to poke fun at the state of living in poverty. While it oftentimes is unavoidable, we do aspire to not be meanspirited. Over the years we have co-opted the term 'Peak Poor' to being someone who exudes poverty, regardless of their actual net worth. Trump and Elon both exhibit the peak poor ethos from time to time while still being the top 0.000001%. You can do something peak poor and still be a good person or a generally adjusted one. We all have a bit of poor in us.
We basically fill a niche similar to fatpeoplehate with a bit less actual malice.
PeakPoor is shotgunning mountain dews at 5 years old.
PeakPoor is not people dying of poverty. While technically the greatest heights of poverty is succumbing to it this is not funny, and is a failure
of capitalism. We do not make fun of poverty to be mean spirited such as that.
Read the room, if it's punching down too hard or really digging into someone whos a sympathetic character it doesn't belong here. (basically READ THE ROOM)

Subscribe to this hole, it's important that we get our numbers up. Love numbers = peak poor
Bonus points for making your post title some variation of peak poor. (Pinnacle of Poverty, Prowess of the Penniless)
I am looking for a mod who will help me grow this place and encourage the facebook community where the majoryity of our members reside
to migrate. Contact me if interested.
I really do love you all so very much, i'm even spending drama coin to get some banners and marseys. thanks for being a part of the community.

Lol that’s literally a fast food restaurant at that point and there’s no expectation to tip at those.

A wagie might give me a dirty look if I don't give them a 50% tip for putting my food in a bag!!

I would definitely consider it part of the tip for a sit down meal. Takeout cashiercels deserve nothing, get nothing and will always get nothing

Just keep him off reddit and he'll become a productive member of society and look back and realize he was ridiculous. :D

Thankfully he seems reddit-free, just needs to experience the real world a little more. He has potential to be a future griller

Yep, in California it's not too rare but it's uncommon enough that people still get annoyed and deduct the amount from the tip.
