Vet Tech really is a bullshit field according to my wife. You make about 30-40k and you have to wrestle your 80-100lb patients onto exam tables, prep, know how to sedate them n shit for surgeries etc. etc. They make way less because its a field thats 99% women and they'll rather just collect whatever paycheck they can get than fight for higher pay.
Women in general dont negotiate for higher pay so they're all stuck doing heavy lifting, chemistry and so on for such a shit salary. It's a wonder no economist or even feminist economist bitching about "wage gap" going after perhaps one of the more under paid fields thats mainly women lmao.

Also becoming a vet is very competitive, so you have a glut of women washing out of vet programs and landing on the closest thing to being an actual vet, which will depress wages.

the primary reason for the wage gap is because women in every female job aren't competing on the same promotion track as men are. success at a male career is getting promoted and paid better. success at a female career is getting married to a rich guy at work.
nurses don't want more pay or more responsibility, they want to bully the other nurses so they have a better shot at marrying one of the doctors and living off his paycheck for the rest of her life
