“Specialized repair tech”

Aka mall kiosk phone guy

:marseybrainlet::marseybrainlet:

Here's another vet tech. This one is mad that veterinarians (who go to school nearly as long as actual doctors) make more than them for being cat/dog CNAs

LPNs aka nurses who don't go to college or as I like to say little pretend nurses

lmao i work as a tier 1 helpdesk tech for a law firm and i make about 72k/year from that. Literally the easiest shit ever. I love seeing wagies that work way harder than I do make like a quarter of what i make, it's so cathartic

How did you find this job?

it found me actually. recruiter reached out to me and pretty much handed me the job with very little interviews or anything

Mind you I have worked my entire life in IT and am fairly knowledgeable with this stuff so its not like I got this job with no experience. I've also been here for awhile so I've gotten yearly raises and stuff

Nooo! I make less as a vettech who does everything that a human radiology tech, phlebotomist, nurse, anesthetist, surgical assistant, and more would do… except for your pets.

Plus I have a four-year degree as a technologist and radiologist radiology tech!

tbf people will spend a lot of money on pets lol. One of the partners here chartered a private plane to fly his golden retreiver to the best vet he could get in after it got run over by a car

Pinkteron offered a summer job for college students where I trailed people with a camera and a car.

Paid hourly, gas reimbursed. Had to take notes of times they left or had visitors. Babby's first detective stakeout.

I lucked out and work a job where I stream movies and listen to podcasts. Sit on my butt in the AC and get paid $50k a year with full benefits. All with no degree.

Do you think I should work your type of job? I can watch movies all day and I also don't need my butt out of a special cushioned chair.

It's a great job money wise, I've bought a house and 2 acres by doing it, but it's really dull and unfulfilling. Also I'm a ruralcel so the employment opportunities suck. I make more than most nurses and skilled trades starting out in my area. I would have to take a nearly 50% paycut to go do the electrician or plumbing apprenticeship. Then work for 5 years just to end up making what I do now. Can't leave the room unless going to the restroom. My boss is cheap so our chairs are archaic so not the most comfortable. So I just suck it up and try to lean into my hobbies.

You work in IT. It's like making double what the other IT guys make in a law firm if you're a first year associate without doing anything at all.
