Butthole lawyer got me fired 😭

I made a post the other day about how I was stiffed on a $550 tab by a couple attorneys and followed the advice I received and reached out to the firm on the card to tell them about what happened. Well it completely backfired, the woman on the phone who I think was just a receptionist told me she would follow up with my concern. I made a post on their Facebook page too but somehow it got deleted? They ended up calling my restaurant on a Saturday and told them about it and that if I was not terminated they would be pursuing legal action against both myself and the restaurant.

My boss was very nice about it and said that he actually contacted his family attorney about what to do and unfortunately they had to let me go. I'm just devastated and have never felt more worthless it just sucks how we are so replaceable and people deemed “better than thou” can have our jobs taken from us just like that.

There are few professions as entitled as US waiters

You bring a fricking plate to your customers. You're a gussied up Amazon delivery driver. Why the heck are you entitled to a 20% tip?

That's why I don't tip when I go to pick food up. You did literally :marseyme: nothing :marseynothingburger: but your fricking :marseytom: job to put it in the shittiest container :marseyabandoned: and still manage to frick up my order.

Not wrong but it is quite a job to know ingredients, communicate changes to the kitchen (plus know what's possible to change) and help with genuine mistakes by the kitchen. Meanwhile killing your feet. Of course many/most don't meet this, but it's more than being a doordash driver.

I'd say pre-rona I was more sympathetic but any more I get pretty middling wait staff :marseyshrug:

:marseyshrug: indeed. I see a downwards pre/post-rona change in many things too, but 'being a good waiter' hasn't changed really, no? The quality has declined, still they're not a "gussied up Amazon delivery driver."

No it's not lol. That's literally :marseyme: the fricking easiest job. The only fricking hard part of the fricking job is fricking sexual harrassment.

Friendly neighbor, can't you read? I wrote: the job of being a (salaried) waiter is more than being a "gussied up" delivery driver.

You restated my point. Thanks, I guess?

I haven't worked at Fazolis in over a decade but I can still remember ham, pepperoni, salami, sliced Italian sausage, provolone, lettuce, tomato, Mayo, and red wine vinaigrette.
