Skiing is like road cycling. The amount you have to spend on equipment before you can even start skiing is a lot. This keeps out the poors. I guess you can rent stuff though.

Never met a peakpoor road cyclist, all of them are at least middle class. I guess the same goes for Skiiers.

Road cycles are hard to find secondhand because it's enthusiast gear.

Budget skis exist and most middle class families own a set.

Poors love to Google retail prices though when they're making excuses. Somehow they're pickier than most professionals I know

Idk, they all do in the suburbs and I grew up like 4 hours from a mountain. City people don't have storage though.

I have never heard of anyone nor known anyone who has skiid lol :marseyflagtexas: not even my suburboid (:vomit:) cousins (they ice skate doe)

its just not something I've ever even thought about doing? like there's a million better hobbies (road cycling is one)

I've seen skis and snowboards in the back of thrift stores all the time so if you really wanted to on the cheap...

I'll try it out when I move to alaska though :marseyshrug: when in rome :marseyflagalaska:

I almost wrote another paragraph all to say I'm just not that interested in skiing

so unless I lived near a slope and it was a day trip I'd rather do something else

:marseylongpost: I need to go to bedt :marseysleep:

who knows maybe I'll be married to the slopes one day :marseyslipp!eryslope2:

You can ride a normal bike, more expensive ones are marginally faster but if you're not racing it literally doesn't matter.

You can get an old bike for $50 or for free. It only gets expensive if you want Gucci :marseygucci: gear

:marseyconfused: You can road cycle on a £100 bike. Everything else is optional, don't let Big Helmet fool you.

keeping out the poors from an activity is good, I'm glad it's making them angry
