A lot of the unnecessary products from the grocery store. I used to like to drink Powerade. Welp, price went up 60%. Don't buy those anymore. I would occasionally buy those theater-style boxes of candy. Price went up 50%. Don't buy those anymore. Bags of chips? Could have swore these were $3 a bag, not $5. Cross those off the list.

Shit like that has gone up an unreasonable amount for real in my experience. Different but another one that's been confusing me is Publix. I used to go there for lunch sometimes and just get something out of their deli, the prices have gone up 2x easily. They used to have chicken tender sandwiches in the hotbar thing that were $2.00/ea in 2020, they're $4.50/ea now. Probably plenty of other specific examples but on larger grocery trips I'm pretty shit about keeping up with anything, I've just noticed number=bigger.

Yeah, I almost added something about that in my comment tbh because I thought they were a good deal in 2020 - but its the only one I actually know the specific prices on lol. Everything there has gone up almost double I'd say, just cant remember exact numbers. Publix is fricking weird now, it has the same shit as Walmart at double the price and all you get in exchange is nicer employees and a cleaner/nicer store.

For groceries, I haven't noticed much of a price change, other than buying less steak.
But I've always been that customer buying at sales prices. These are less frequent, so I buy more and freeze more.

I just roll through the big store and cook accordingly for the next week or two. If you've got a large Asian store around, they tend to have great prices on rice noodles, king oyster mushrooms, vegetables, rice, whatever. Amazon is great for spices, and I probably spend more than the average household when that's factored in. It's not like I clip coupons or scan codes for it. I keep it flexible and have fun trying out new recipes.

I consider shopping at Publix basically paying a tax to be able to check out in a remotely reasonable amount of time. Yeah there's a Walmart nearby, but you're never escaping through the one half-broken register that's open, and single baked employee working it. And the lady in front of you who wants to argue about her EBT card for 30 minutes.
Tl/dr: shut up and take my money, Publix.
Also, buy their Cuban bread, cut it diagonally for a bigger surface area; and carve out part of the middle to make the best eggs in a basket. Pro tier breakfast.

True, depends on the Walmart I guess. There aren't any close to me where I live now, but the one closest to my parent's house is pretty nice. Well-organized, self checkout and shit. Never had problems there. The last one I lived close was straight up shit like you said, it was almost impossible to shop there. It was almost like a shittily organized warehouse.
