I grew up in a family with a net income of about 300k by the time I was an adult (started around 60k 20 years prior), but we lived like poor people for our lives. No subscriptions (piracy if we wanted), eating out meant taco bell/sweet tomatoes buffet/coupon hacks at Baja Fresh, meh cars, no phone service (we used Skype only for a long-butt time, and then stuff like Mint Mobile where its $15/month),etc etc. Only thing we spent more money on was a house because parents wanted to ensure good public schools & housing always has good ROI in the long-run.

Our family net worth by the time I was an adult was ~5-10 million dollars. My point is, if you don't have money it's pretty much guaranteed that it's your fault.
