A lot of people have a significant disadvantage to making money because their parents or grandparents were poor too.

I'm not saying this is an excuse: their parents should've tried harder.

My point is even with no parents or poor parents you can make money in america if youre willing to work. You have to actually just be lazy to stay poor here.

Maybe but I'm pretty sure most wealth is generational and I assume the people you're referring to that not only have the motivation but also the intelligence to lift themselves up out of poverty are probably 1 in 10000 or fewer (most people are poor, lazy AND r-slurred)

Generational wealth is immediately squandered by the heir. Its only the dozen ultra wealthy families where it lasts because they had the foresight not to give everything to their heirs in a lump sum.

"Generational wealth" doesn't just refer to millionaire kids. The ability to claw your way out of the middle or even lower-middle class can depend on if your parents saved up enough money to get you through a decent college.

you say 'generational' but what

saved up enough money to get through college

means has changed entirely in literally one generation

my grandparents and parents worked part time for they education (not that it did anything to help my parents were worse off than gparents)

I'd have to go into high 5 low 6 fig debt for the same education

literally just be smard (which has little to do with what or where you went to school considering all information is available at our fingertits for those willing to learn)

and industrious and you cn pull yourself out of anything.

I doubted that before I was employed too but

im workng blue collar now and to see just how r-slurred some of the people actually are who supposedly have decades of experience on me

I can alreaty tell :marseybigbrain:

and some those guys are balling

it's all about being important and valuable. which a college degree is becoming less and less.

as more and more low IQs go further into debt and more BIPOCS get more free $$$

in my grandpadre's time only 7% of ppl gradjudated college

today its almost 38%

heck only 41% graduated HS then which 91% today do

we went to the moon with those numbers

so are ppl actually getting smarter? or are standards dropping?

is passing most of that bottom quintile that would have dropped out in any other time doing anything at all?

I'll find something else that'll put me in the top 7% but it aint college anymore

once the fifth or sixth poorcel you've met squanders life changing money/opportunities you lose empathy

poorcels routinely:

fail to take offered scholarships

fall butt backwards into cash and waste it

take out gigantic predatory loans for worthless trash

immediately max out any and all credit

This is unfortunately true.

most wealth is generationa

The top 1% or something, where the wealth is so large that they literally cant spend it all in their lifetime; and in the modern economy the best way to make money is to have money, so its easy to keep being rich.

But a middle clas,s decent, livable life isnt gated behind having middle class parents.

I don't think you realize how much generational wealth applies to middle class too - the difference between your middle-class kid getting a STEM job or flipping burgers

Is that a matter of generational wealth, or that successful people raise their children to be successful, too? :#marseysmirk2:
