Poor Hasn't Paid His Student Loans Since 2020 And Just Got HIT With A 120 Credit Score Drop. But..Biden PROMISED! Did MUSK DO THIS?!!?!?

https://old.reddit.com/r/StudentLoans/comments/1iqcp8j/federal_loans_credit_hit_215/

I haven't paid federal loans since before 2020 and I was just recently hit with a 120 point credit score drop.

Did this happen to anyone else? My wife didn't get the credit hit yet.

Didn't Biden say that no credit would be reported until Sept / December 2025?!

I was on an IDR plan before 2020.

Did Musk do this?

You haven't paid in 5 years and your worried about your credit? Lmfao wait until they start taking your paychecks.

:#marseyemojilaugh:

My credit dropped about 11 points cause by balance magically went up about $100 on a SAVE $0 month payment

MAGIC!!

I just got a house and couldn't pay mortgage if I had to make the payments. Il look into payment plans more. Could I actually lose my house? That's insane right? :marseyemojirofl:

So you bought a house you knew you couldn't afford and thought you would just ignore your student loans? I'm so confused. You're going to have to pay your loans one way or another, so in that case, yes, you could lose your house.

jesus christ

Darn son 120 pts lol wtf u doin

All of my undergrad I took out all federal loans available to me (because it was what everyone told our generation to do). 7 loans total. I'm guessing credit dips were 15 - 20 points each?

does he think federal loans are some pokemons to collect them all?! :marseyemojilaugh2:

There's no way. He would have been in default of the loan and no way he got a mortgage in default of school loans.

if by "everyone" you mean /r/wallstreetbets, then yes

iirc, interest on federally subsidized loans can be deferred so the play is to take out as many loans as possible and invest it all in stonks

Q: Isn't that against the terms of the loan?

A: lol, lmao

Interest rates on those loans are really low so you can just take all of them and use high yield savings accounts to sort of offset the overall cost and then just pay it back lump sum when payments start

But most people who end up in these situations (r-slurs) just use the excess money to "have fun" or "not suffer" by switching to nicer dorms, or going out all the time, or whatever until its all gone

Not exactly... I'm also not sure how this guy managed to end up with 7 different federal ones if all he has is a bachelors :marseyconfused2: I have 3 and that's only because I was an r-slur about it, it could have just been 1 or 2

Mine were different between each year and sub'd or unsub'd. I'd try to get them condensed to one of two but the interest rate keeps climbing and refinancing at this point would be stupid.

It's true. I'm 40 and still have 37k left to pay off.

But I've got multiple properties and two degrees making good money.

This poor just can't stop making bad decisions.

neighbor you said you make 200k yesterday, why are you still in debt? is the interest rate like 2% or something?

Why do poor people never understand how debt works?

I've got private student loans locked in at 2.7%.

Why on God's green earth would I prioritize paying those off when I can make 7-10% in the stock market?
