My ‘friend' took a years worth of sertraline from my medicine cabinet

I get that doctors try to hide depression, but seriously a whole years worth? I have 12 bottles, just take one or two and I likely wouldn't notice since I rarely remember to take it. He missed the fun drugs like Vicodin and ambien that's literally in the drawer next to the medicine cabinet.

I thought stockpiling prescription medication was highly frowned upon. Wouldn't saying you had 300+ pills in the first place be the bigger issue even if your taking the max daily dose? Not taking the vicodin is a big time drugie L.

Depends on the medication. You can get a 1 year script without much issue if trusted by the ordering physician. Normally it would be a 6 month prescription but being a doctor I can get a year prescription

Now comes the fun of explaining why I'm missing 365 pills to my doctor. They'll give me more but instead of a years supply I'll have to schedule an appointment every 3 months. Might as well just do meth for my serotonin instead of peepeeing around with his schedule

Just go b-word about insomnia to your PCP. They'll likely write a script for some opioid as long as you don't have a history of drug abuse.
