I grew up in Brampton, ON and when I was a kid it was little Scotland. Literally all my friends were a McInnes, MacDonald, Campbell even me, my irl name is Scottish. I had many friend's whose parents were 1st gen Scottish with the brogue accent and everything.

Then around 1985 the brown wave of Punjabis begun and never stopped. My sister still lives there and every time I go back we play "Where's Whitey" when we're driving in and whoever sees a white person gets 1 point and we barely ever get to 5 points. It's a total shithole now and thankfully my sister is moving away finally so I won't have to go there anymore.

Last time I visited I went inside a Tim's and I felt like Luke Skywalker in that space-cantina scene.

Nah my hometown is full of them now too. There used to be 1 or 2 and they were great because back then it was only people with good degrees that whooped their kids asses if they didn't also want to become doctors or engineers

My parents live in a small Ontario town that had 2 black kids in our entire (large) high school growing up, and last time I visited my nephew who goes to the same school said it's now 50% Indian..
