I got one of these just to dip my toes back in again https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/combos/mk295-keyboard-mouse-combo.920-009782.html
I'm actually enjoying the no clickity clackity. I'm still rocking the G502 mouse from ages ago, but once I find a comparable wireless mouse, I'm off wires for good.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T LIKE TO HEAR THE CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK OF COMPUTERSTRAGS
IF MIDDLE MANAGEMENT DOESNT HEAR THE CLACK CLACK OF PLUG-IN MECHANICAL KEYBOARDS THEN HOW DO THEY KNOW YOU ARE WORKING ON THEIR MACBOOKS

I've thought about getting a chiclet KB. Are those easy to clean?

I wipe mine down every once in a while and blow compressed air. I imagine it's harder if you want to take the key caps off than regular switches.
If you're not cumming or spilling your nugget sauces on it I don't see how cleanliness is an issue.

Yeah, 10+ years ago I had bad experiences with them but this is pretty neat now.
I can't use the mouse that came with this combo because it's too small, but response wise, it's pretty darn good.
I don't do much PC gaming anymore, so this is great for day-to-day workflow.

I'm using a IBM mechanical keyboard older than I am because my wireless one broke and it was cheaper just to get a ps/2 to usb connector and use this than it was to buy an entire new keyboard

I use the xpg summoner. not really a fan of this one's sound but It types well, and the hand rest is the best part of this.
I don't use the RGB, just set it to all white backlight

I still like mechanical keyboards but I'm over the noisy ones. I have a Keychron V3 with brown switches, factory lubed, and they're reasonably quiet and have a good feel. It's probably the best value going for a mechanical board.

Yes, but I'm not spending $100 on a wireless mouse. That's just fricking stupid.
I don't need any of the DPI or extra button crap. I just need something large enough for my gorilla mitts.

I have a cheap membrane keyboard and when I consider buying mechanical I just run bucklespring to get the same effect.
I prefer wired. It's not a big difference, but never having to charge or replace a battery or sync or whatever makes life simpler.

I used them for years but recently switched to mechanical cos I got sick of having to buy new ones because of buttons getting "stuck". I love the mechanical but like a tard I bought a US one so I don't have a euro symbol (and no num pad so I can't make one that way either) and every time I remote onto a new work server I have to change the keyboard config.

Hot take: I love Thinkpads but never got the keyboard hype, they're plenty gushy.

They should be there already, the most recent one I got had an Rpi Pico in it and you could flash firmware on it. https://old.reddit.com/r/modelm/comments/122inym/a_new_era_of_reprogrammable_oem_controllers_on/

I got a keyboard with those blue switches a few years ago and used that for a couple of years. It was fun to begin with but started to get kind of silly. I don't need to make a huge noise every time I'm typing something. I'm still using a mechanical keyboard now but I got a new one with quieter switches.
