pu erh tea eh

Pu'er can be pretty good, but it's definitely in the "not for everyone" category. We got some "sticky rice" pu'er in Seattle a few years ago and that's probably among my favorites.

Tea is a con. It looks fancy, it smells nice, but when it comes to drinking, it is always a letdown.
I haven't had a single tea live up to the expectations built when sniffing the freshly opened pack of leaves or the scent while brewing. It always just tastes like leaves.

I don't disagree. It's just thag the whole chinese tea process is just so extra and appeals to my inner sperg.

Oh ok well in that case great. You can just throw the leaf water away and enjoy the process.
Unironically my favourite part of making coffee is making the coffee. Drinking it is kind of just OK.

The tea in his videos makes my mouth water. I now follow some chinese tea lady too, hers are more informative and don't engage the consoomer part of my brain tho

Just go to a local shop where you can actually smell. My shop sells samples for like $2 a pop. I bought like 12 of them and am slowly going through each of them one by one. Theres a puer or red (black) tea that was in the orange and got shredded which im excited to try.
Edit: it was shit

I just don't like all the teaslop flavors the western vendors have. I dont want something called beach bellini or mojito i want dry leaves picked and processed by purestrain chinks

She also has a lot of disdain for the stuff western vendors put out. A lot of her collection is Chinese names I'm unsure how to pronounce.

I tried to get into tea but half assed it. I tried to replace alcohol with calming tea but drinking it at night made me pee too much in the middle of the night. lol

This makes me like you even more, dramabro. There was a guy at my last wagie job that would bring in this expensive tea and share. It was a great mid afternoon refresher. I don't like coffee but in the morning for a quick caffeine jolt, but tea is great in the afternoon.
