I had/ have a 10 cm left ovarian abcess thats still got a drain in it. I was in the hospital for 3 days and had surgery already, and will need another soon. :marseyconeofshame: I get to see my PCP tomorrow but things hurt and I have a literal drain system implanted that's held together with nails. :marseycry:

:marseyembrace: true, true. The recovery period may be up to 2 months though. So wild that this happened to me, but mister man and my family are doing a lot to fatten me up at home now that I've been discharged (I got out on the 14th) :marseysunflower: my mom gave me a sunflower arrangement to cheer me up but now my real garden is out of reach :marseycry:

I had/ have a 10 cm left ovarian abcess

:m#arseywtf2:

Had an abcess in my back a few years ago and it was only 3-4cm deep. They did cut it out quite nicely though (well it's basically a 3x4 scar), so only needed surgery once and no drain. But they didn't close the wound up at all and just put a bandage on, so it slowly grew closed. So basically regular wound cleaning visits (initially daily, then every other day, then twice a week). Took a total of ~2-3 months to heal (estimate was 3-4).

While I stayed at the hospital though the old guy in my room was a quite funny. Probably dead by now, cause he had cancer at his esophagus and the resection of the cancerous part basically meant it had to be sutured back again at a higher position. Thinking about him... he was really sad that he couldn't go home as well when I left after 2 days. Was already in the hospital for a few weeks at that time and he still had a stool management system installed.

Happy healing to you though! :)

My, how sad, cruel, and small the world can be sometimes.... it was my first surgery and I took it awake like a champ :beavisandbuttheadrocking:

I know what it's like to miss old roommates, though. That feeling of something that could've been a lasting friendship if only.
