I haven't traveled anywhere in more than a year because me and my family take turns in taking care of grandma. I haven't been in a hotel, cinema, taxi, bus, airplane either
I found it on my potty seat on it's back trying to right itself up. I thought it's a ladybug at first since it was round and clumsy and put a finger above it to let it grab it. But it wasn't a ladybug, it was brown, flat and had a weird segmented body. After killing it and googling it's definitely a bed bug. There's a little vent above my potty that has a iron mesh with pretty big openings, I think it dropped down from there and fell on the potty seat, I was just lucky to catch it on time
What if more entered my house last night or the day before? I don't want a bed bug infestation

I don't have any bites yet so I'm hoping that this was the only one. But if someone in the same building has a bed bug infestation it means that there will be more scaling the walls I covered the vent with cardboard and tape and covered the places pipes enter my bathroom (already did this because of marauding cockroaches). Now I'll move on to remove all bed covering to see if there are any signs of additional bed bugs

If you've got any, go down to Tractor Supply and get diatomaceous earth, it'll take a couple of weeks but it'll kill them

make sure when you check mattress etc you look along the seams as they hide very well, also look for tiny crosses on fabric as it's bedbug poop and a sure sign you already have a problem
if there's none of that then you can do the preventative shit and should be ok
getting rid of a bedbug infestation if they're established in your building can only really be fixed by burning everything and moving, so hopefully it doesn't come to that

I checked the bed and sofas/armchairs but couldn't find anything. I even moved the bed to check for any movement on the wall behind it. I now dumped all my sheets in the washing machine and put clean white ones one the bed and in the carpet around my bed to make seeing any new suspicious spots easier.
I'm really worried that one of my neighbors has an infestation since that will mean more will try to enter my apartment and it's only a matter of time before I get bed bugs too. Buttholes already infested me with cockroaches and ants, but I managed to kill them all eventually and cover the places they were entering through. Bed bugs are even worse

if you covered the vents it should be ok :3 I second using diatomaceous earth, at least in your doorway, though it should be a very thin line
they're called bedbugs for a reason, if they're not on your mattress then you're safe for now, just keep checking and maybe try to get rid of your gross neighbors somehow

No, but it definitely looked like the round pre-adult stage. It even had the black spot on it's butt and smelled bad after I killed it.

It's a bed bug, looks exactly like a pic there But after sleeping I don't have any new bites, there's no poop or blood on my sheets and I couldn't see anything moving on my bed when I woke up in the middle of the night But I know fleas don't always bite in the first or second night so it's still possible that there are some bed bugs that are still accommodating in my apartment and will appear in a day or two. Can't declare victory yet but it's a promising sign
I don't keep dirty laundry outside of my washing machine. I try to keep my apartment as clean as possible since my neighbors have cockroaches and they constantly try to enter my home. Having less food sources around means they are more likely to avoid my doors and windows and move to other neighbors
But TIL about booklice, I have a frick ton of these too, and never knew what they are.

if you saw a bedbug, you have bedbugs. take eradication steps. It doesnt have to be expensive but it does have to be done.
uuuuuuuhhhhhhgghhhh it could have come from your apt neighbors. Ask the landlord to have a pest control company inspect their unit!
