I found a bed bug in my house :marseyaaatremble:

I haven't traveled anywhere in more than a year because me and my family take turns in taking care of grandma. I haven't been in a hotel, cinema, taxi, bus, airplane either :marseyitsover:

I found it on my potty seat on it's back trying to right itself up. I thought it's a ladybug at first since it was round and clumsy and put a finger above it to let it grab it. But it wasn't a ladybug, it was brown, flat and had a weird segmented body. After killing it and googling it's definitely a bed bug. There's a little vent above my potty that has a iron mesh with pretty big openings, I think it dropped down from there and fell on the potty seat, I was just lucky to catch it on time

What if more entered my house last night or the day before? :marseysob: I don't want a bed bug infestation :marseysulk:

make sure when you check mattress etc you look along the seams as they hide very well, also look for tiny crosses on fabric as it's bedbug poop and a sure sign you already have a problem

if there's none of that then you can do the preventative shit and should be ok

getting rid of a bedbug infestation if they're established in your building can only really be fixed by burning everything and moving, so hopefully it doesn't come to that :marseysad:

I checked the bed and sofas/armchairs but couldn't find anything. I even moved the bed to check for any movement on the wall behind it. I now dumped all my sheets in the washing machine and put clean white ones one the bed and in the carpet around my bed to make seeing any new suspicious spots easier.

I'm really worried that one of my neighbors has an infestation since that will mean more will try to enter my apartment and it's only a matter of time before I get bed bugs too. Buttholes already infested me with cockroaches and ants, but I managed to kill them all eventually and cover the places they were entering through. Bed bugs are even worse :marseysob:

if you covered the vents it should be ok :3 I second using diatomaceous earth, at least in your doorway, though it should be a very thin line

they're called bedbugs for a reason, if they're not on your mattress then you're safe for now, just keep checking and maybe try to get rid of your gross neighbors somehow :marseyflamewar:
