I thought it was a bad tire so I took the tire off and ran the spare for a drive, but the sound and vibration didn't go away. Now I'm thinking it's a bad wheel bearing. If not that, it's something wrong with the front differential and that will cost me some time and money. I'll keep you all updated.
Anyways look how sexy my two sets of tail lights are.

Mines RWD-based AWD. Viscous coupling though so not much power goes to the front. It's mostly just for high speed and wet handling.

Interesting, I'd actually never thought about how AWD would work on a rear engine car.
Is the sound worse under deceleration? That's when I hear it on my old WRX (which probably needs a new diff). The easiest way for me to repro is to get up to about 20 mph in first and lift off the throttle, but it's there any time I downshift and coast really.

It's noisy for accel, decel, and coasting. Sound doesn't change except with speed.
There's a lot of noise echoing off the tire so I'm certain it's got to be the wheel bearing. I can also feel it in the steering wheel. I'd think if it were a bearing in the differential it wouldn't vibrate the wheel as much or resonate through all of the bushings to the steering wheel.
I have new bearings coming and a kit to press them in, but I won't be able to work on it until next week.

I've never done wheel bearings, but I've heard they are a pain in the butt even if you don't have a German sports car. Maybe it's just a matter of using the right tool though.
I can feel my (assumed) diff issue in my steering wheel, but I think it's because the car decelerates weirdly (it kind of oscillates with the wubwubwub). My guess is that if you put it in neutral and still hear it, it's probably not the diff. I'm not just some guy though, don't listen to me.
