I'm going to a party in Florida where I'll be wearing brown shoes and a belt - which would mean brown watch. However, I think the black watch is cooler and would rather wear that. Would you be opposed to putting the brown strap on the black watch or would that be tacky?

According to
you should always have your shoes and belt match. I typjcally apply this rule to my watch band/tie/handkerchief aswwell if possible. They should all meld at least, and if done properly it can even sort of clash/make a transition between your pants/shirt/jacket/hat patterns/colours to create a fun colour array that is subtly fun/nice on the eye

I find black dials horrendously ugly so I'd just keep the white dial with the brown strap
Unless it's a formal party in which case there's no good combination you can make here

The brown strap white watch is an absolute yes, it's an accessory like a belt. The black watch is a bad idea period, a brown strap on a black watch is worse than just wearing the black strap black watch IMHO
The reality: the vast majority of people won't notice or care. It depends on the crowd and who you're trying to impress

Yeah it would look tacky. Just buy a new one if you don't like the brown watch. I'm not a lunatic so all my Vacheron Constantin's are high-quality knockoffs

It's worth knowing what could be. I think you'd best stick to the white watch for the described outfit

Ehhhh. I don't like it.
I think I'll just wear the silver/brown one instead and give the black one some rest.

The tacky logo on the dial always looked so hideous to me. Always F1 strags who buy them because they see the pictures on their favourite zoomer zoomers' gloves![:marseyracist: :marseyracist:](https://i.rdrama.net/e/marseyracist.webp)
Anyway the brown with white dial is obviously far better. The black one looks like something some middle schooler asked his dad for when they went to the store to pick out his birthday present together.

I like the Monaco that Walter White wears. It's also extremely tacky but so much that it wraps around to being fun again

I grew up kinda poor, so maybe it's an eccentricity, but I just have a $200 watch I wear with anything, and if anyone ever asks, I just say it's my favorite watch. If you're a Michigander in Florida, own it a little it. Drop a little Charlie Berens on them, and make them feel like they're a little wrong.
You've got your circle, and I've got mine, so grain of salt and all that, but being subtly salt-of-the-earth has its perks
