The open world is darn near perfect.
The actual main story and side missions are just 30-50 hours of journobait. With few exceptions if it's marked on your map it's slop and if not it's probably good.

Holy shit this game sucks. 30 minutes in and it's just overanimated bullshit I don't care about. Hold R to search the cubboard x 5, clam the horse, pat the horse, lead the horse, for fricks sake who was this made for? Who has time for this? I'm going to use up all my down time on this and never leave the tutorial

Are you trying to frick with me? They're even worse. The only Yakuza game I liked even a little was 0 (it let you skip cut scenes). Tried playing another, it made me run back and forth to a shop 4 times and I outright uninstalled it when I couldn't play the next mission because it wanted me, the player, to walk around a fricking lot looking for a piece of paper to get by a guard IN A FIGHTING GAME

No, they're my favorite games. Try Like a Dragon, it's an RPG. If you don't like RPGs, try Judgment instead.
Or just play a puzzle game, or something. Balatro, there you go. Sounds like you're just not into the whole third person action adventure go-around-and-do-shit kinda game.

The 2nd "mission" (tutorial) not only should've been a cut scene, it drops you into a cut scene where you the player have to walk!. A cut scene I can't skip or ignore!
