CNN articles are pretty soft on Biden, at least compared to comments on the rest of the Internet.

Most sources are only talking about his comments on Israel, which to be honest isn't that important for his reelection odds.

Also this was a really short interview, if Biden's campaign wants to show his mental acuity is strong, this isn't how you do it.

"Snickers bar, they did a thing, and it's like 20% less for the same price."

When Biden made this claim during the State of the Union address in March, Mars Inc., the company that makes Snickers bars, rebutted Biden's claim in a statement shared widely on X.

"We have not reduced the size of Snickers singles or share size in the U.S. Like many industries, we continue to face high inflation and spikes in materials costs; however, we work to absorb these extra costs wherever possible to provide affordable treats at the best value," the company said.

why even lie about something like this lol

i don't think it's a lie tho

i'm pretty sure snickers, and most candy bars, are smaller than they used to be.

The outlet stated that the confectionery company also said they planned to replace or eliminate all candy bar sizes which contained over 250 calories by the end of 2013. According to NPR, downsizing from the then standard two ounce and 280 calorie Snicker bars to a 250 calorie bar represented an 11 percent shrink.

The 250 cal snickers bar is one of the easiest building blocks for nutrition while backpacking. The macros unironically align with your dietary needs while doing 10-14 hours a day of moderate-high intensity activity and knowing that they are 250kcal is the easiest mental math for bars x mileage (assumed 150kcal/mile while hiking, so a 30 mile day with 2 x 1000 calories hot meals needs you should be eating 10 Snickers bars per day to supplement, which at a 3mph pace equates to 1 bar every 90 minutes of walking or so)

"We have not reduced the size of Snickers singles or share size in the U.S."

People here don't know how to read through bullshit. "We haven't shrunk singles or share size. [What's on the shelf has a different name.]"

Also of note: no time frame. "We have not reduced the size" ... since last year.

I went on a trip recently and wanted to be a fatass, so I got a specific brand of chocolate chip cookies I can't get where I live for nostalgia since I haven't had them in a long time. Bruh not only did the price skyrocket, they shrunk them from 500g to 300g - it was ridiculous how small these things were. I actually got triggered and showed my mom since she used to buy these for me as a kid occasionally lol.

It's weird because shrinkflation is 100% a real thing. But he could have used a real example.

Over the past couple decades I've seen "half gallon" tubs of ice cream steadily decrease in size, for example. I think now they're 3/8ths of a gallon?

Idk if he actually said Snickers or not

I remember him talking about that shit it was about how potato chip bags are half air or whatever

People were calling it snackflation and it was kind of a meme but also true at the same time. It was only half serious.

It's kind of r-slurred if out of all the shit, that's what people are going to take issue with

Shrinkflation is super common, bad luck singling out the one product that actually didn't do it
