Majority of Americans wrongly believe US is in recession – and most blame Biden : politics

See, this is what I mean when I say that liberals need to work on their tone.

If they just said, "nah, the economy is fine. Don't worry about it. Let's talk about something else," then skeptics and even some rightoids would be prone to trust them.

But no, the moment they encounter any sort of dissension or opposition from the right, they start to sweat and pace back and forth and talk way too loudly and get flustered, and they adopt this imperious, lecturing tone, "How...HOW...HOW CAN YOU THINK THERE'S A RECESSION? There...there clearly isn't one! Here, read this pamphlet about it! I just...I just can't!!"

Of course if you're undecided, and you encounter someone that furious and agitated, you're not going to be easily swayed.

It's like the mask thing. Here's how democrats should have handled the mask thing: "look, there's a contagious disease. It costs you nothing to wear a mask. Let's band together and act like adults. We good? Okay. Let's move on to some other problems."

But no. The second a single republican expressed skepticism, democrats put on their drill sergeant hats and stick a scolding finger in your face, "OH YEAH? WELL I ORDER YOU TO WEAR A MASK! I'LL PASS LEGISLATION TO PUT YOU IN JAIL IF YOU DON'T! HEY WHERE ARE YOU GOING? WHY WON'T YOU COOPERATE, MAGGOT?!"
