Diversity Is Our Strength Harris campaign spokesperson Ian Sams said in an MSNBC interview that the vice president will not be on Joe Rogan's podcast.
"We talked with Rogan and his team about the podcast, unfortunately, it isn't going to work out right now because of the scheduling of this period of the campaign," Sams told MSNBC's Chris Hayes.
Sams also said that "the vice president is happy to go anywhere and any place to talk to a broad segment of the country."
Reuters reported last week that Harris might sit down for an interview on Rogan's podcast in an effort to galvanize more male voters. The publication said Harris campaign officials met with Rogan's team earlier this week but had not confirmed an appearance.
Former President Trump plans to sit for a Friday interview with the podcaster on "The Joe Rogan Experience," which boasts more than 14 million followers on Spotify, according to Politico. The former president has never been on Rogan's show, which has faced criticism in recent years over commentary on public health and other controversial issues.

They picked Biden because they hoped the good vibes from Obama's first administration would carry over, plus he was the moderate candidate who had a long career behind him and the backing of the party movers and shakers. He'd do what he was told and wouldn't rock any boats, and he could be sold to the electorate as nice old uncle Joe who was reassuringly solid and Not Orange Man.
Biden picked Kam-kam because the quid pro quo for the black support was "we want a black VP" and it had to be a woman because Hillary was so cruelly cheated out of being First Female Ever, to appeal to the women's vote. Kammy was the compromise "she's pretty useless, but that's okay because all the VP has to do is be there in the background as a warm body". Nobody expected that things would blow up so badly with Biden deciding he was going to run for a second term come heck or high water, wouldn't be talked out of it, and then shot himself in the foot with the debate. That left Kammy with unexpected bargaining power, as it was too late to run a proper primary and she was legally the only one who could get the donor cash etc. from the Biden/Harris campaign coffers.
I genuinely think the Democrats expected to run Newsom against DeSantis this time around, they got caught out when Trump just steamrollered over everyone for the Republican nomination, and Biden was not going quietly so they were stuck. And now we've got Kamala and her coconuts, and she picked Walz because I'm guessing she doesn't want the same thing to happen to her (the background VP comes forward and takes over the reins) and nobody is gonna vote for Tim to be President if the choice for Democratic candidate is between him and a sack of flour.

It's a double-edged sword. It might be a good move because a "left" candidate going on a "right" podcast could maybe bridge the gap a little to be more centrist and appeal to both sides, and would also show confidence that she is willing to talk to "the enemy" and neither hide from them nor demonize them. But all those things would also drive people away. Think of the "one nazi at a table" nonsense, and the potential for it to turn into a complete PR disaster are very high, especially when it's kamala. She isn't exactly known for her stellar public appearances.
For a better candidate, going on Joe Rogan would be a no-brainer. For Kamala, or any other current top democrat, it's highly risky.
