I don't think anyone really cares, but people going out of their way to say "I don't endorse anyone", especially "democracy dies in darkness" Washington Post, is a sign that they're thinking Trump has a good chance of winning, and they're trying to avoid whatever vindictive shitstorm he's likely to get up to the first day he's in office.
