I suspect they caved because it would probably look bad if everyone who only mildly cares saw what they were doing actively/daily for the last 6-12 months trying to censor all dissent there and accusing anyone who didn't suck the gock of being a trump supporter, ask me how I know!

It's going to be real funny when RFK and Musk figure out they can't actually do anything because the federal government isn't structured the way Trump has them convinced it is.
Being the head of HHS gives you almost no control over how the FDA functions. The way they work is set by congress, administrators have very limited ability to alter that.
My salt future capital is all in the freak outs next year when they can't do anything. Daddy when he is told he doesn't have the authority to impose tariffs is going to be the most delicious.
The problem with surrounding yourself with rabies infected yes men is that you get a really fricking weird perception of what you can do.
