He is clearly playing 5D chess. Think about it. Either we have to believe that the richest most powerful man in the world is a complete r-slur, or more realistically, the most powerful man in the world is pretending to be r-slurred because that is the best move in the current moment, which perfectly makes sense. Here is why:

1) Trump could easily get jealous of Elon being the most powerful and loved man around, but Trump is unlikely to turn on Elon the "r-slur" who keeps embarrassing himself but is still useful to Trump. This way Elon gets to do everything he wants while Trump gets the spotlight and enemies.

2) The general public hates Elon and would happily vote and act against his interests as a good deed, but nobody wants to be the person having a fight with the neighborhood r-slur, as it lowers their status as well. This way the general populace stop caring about what Elon is doing because it is all just some stupid childish thing anyways.

3) The demonrat leadership hates Elon and would be more than happy to pass laws to take him down when they get back in power. However, when Elon behaves like a harmless dumbass, it takes the democratic leadership off guard over the next 4 years and they would focus on other targets instead like Republican leadership.

4) Elon Musk is behaving like the average 3rd world uncle ( older adult ) who thinks he is a lot smarter than he actually is. Trying to give commands when it comes to things that have no relation to his expertise as if he knows what he is doing. This kind of behavior endears Elon Musk to his new workforce, the Indian immigrant, and ensures that from their cultural perspective, they are able to recognize Elon as their boss behaviorally.

5) Taking all these factors into account, we can determine that Elon is behaving exactly how he needs to to maximize his advantage in the current political atmosphere.

Elon Musk is playing 5D chess and Trump is a far greater moral human being and humanitarian than Biden. Anybody who cannot see this is heavily regarded. The only downside for Americans is that America needs Elon more than Elon needs America. Which means if the best strategy that Elon finds is to sell America to the rest of the world, then that is what is going to happen.
