My entire life, every 4-8 years one side's wingcucks have been absolutely seething and convinced the current president is the antichrist. You'd think this shit would have died out when the fundies realized the Rapture wasn't ever going to happen when we reached the end of the 90s.
It's like none of them can cope with the idea that nothing ever happens, and that frightens them greatly.

I grew up in that era with fundie parents and looking back, doomsday and the rapture were such '90s vibes. That and the fear of Satanism.
I remember being 10 on the eve of y2k and being scared because we're getting raptured and all my heathen friends were going to heck !christians
Ironically the' 90s were one of the more peaceful times of modern history.

I feel the opposite, every election brings us closer to total tyrrany, no matter who wins.
