: America as a world power because of its government, not in spite of it
Please, Big Government! Please waste more money behind the scenes. We don't want to know how much you're wasting, or who's getting paid off in roundabout ways. We only want you to keep spending our money for your own personal gains.
hes cutting the shit that (mostly) isnt bloat, the us government hasnt grown in number of employees since like the 70s, the bloat is in contractors and even that is a drop in the bucket compared to entitlements, if he cuts half the federal work force he's cutting like 2% of the budget, if he cuts all foreign aid that less than 1%, they dont want to make cuts where they'd actually matter and their voters are easily dazzled by bullshit so they will never have to
You can make the per capita argument, and that's cute, but it doesn't explain why government has been so stagnant in productivity.
They're decreasing the growth rate of employment. I assume it's partly because throwing more people at the problem hasn't made government more efficient. If you keep hiring ahit employees, you won't get higher productivity. It's a long-term concern.
Do you think it's reasonable that there's a limit on how many feds can retire because their resignation papers must be stored in a mine? You don't think all government payments should be IDed, labeled and justified?
I just don't understand how someone can listen to this and think that what is happening is bad

I'm sure all the redditors would be perfectly happy if Elon immediately tried to cut entitlements...
